I recently switched to using an Ethernet connection for gaming, but I'm still experiencing high ping times, similar to what I had with a wireless setup. I'm using a Cat 8 Ethernet cable, but my PC shows 'Connected to Ethernet 5.' I'm on Windows 11 and use Cloudflare's DNS servers. After testing my internet speed on Cloudflare's website, I can confirm it's the same as before—around 560 Mbps. My cable is plugged in securely; there's one solid green light and one blinking orange light on my PC port, with only one solid green light on the router. I'm trying to figure out why my gaming experience isn't improving with this new connection.

You should check what kind of Internet Service Provider (ISP) you have. If it’s something like cable or DSL, your speeds might not improve just with the Ethernet. Ethernet speeds are great, but they depend on your ISP as well. Do you know what type of connection you're using?

My ISP is Cox and I use a cable connection, with speeds around 560 Mbps.
