I'm really curious about how fellow developers are planning to get involved in the current AI boom. Although I'm following the AI developments closely, I feel like I have limited knowledge, especially in areas like training models and machine learning. Do you think I should transition into a full ML role, or should I focus on improving my skills in integrating and using LLMs and other AI tools?

Be cautious about what’s labeled as AI. Not everything marketed as AI is actually using advanced technology. Sometimes, it's just simple automation. Focus on what you're passionate about, whether integrating AI solutions or solving problems in your current projects.
I'm taking a straightforward approach: if AI can help solve specific customer issues, I'll use it. Otherwise, I won't force it into situations where it's not helpful. Some people are eager to push AI into everything they do, but I find it can just complicate things.
Using AI doesn’t mean you’re part of the boom; it's more about becoming proficient in it. If you want to secure a future job in this evolving field, the time to enhance your skills is now. Don't let LLMs replace your learning; use them as a tool to boost your capabilities and build robust knowledge.
