I recently turned on my old iPhone 4, and while it's great to see my camera roll, I'm having trouble accessing my downloaded apps. The phone acts like it's 2015, and I need to get into a book app where I kept a book I'm trying to locate. I've tried everything online, but nothing seems to help. The apps appear to load — I can even see parts of what I was reading or the game title screens — but they immediately close. Is there any way to fix this, or am I out of luck?

Unfortunately, there's not a straightforward fix for this. Since the iPhone 4 is no longer supported, many apps might not function properly anymore. They were designed to operate on a more current system, and without updates or backend support, they can't maintain functionality. Your best bet might be to try using another device to access your book and find a way to transfer it, if that's possible.
It's interesting that the apps are loading partially. While it's true the phone is outdated and no longer supported, theoretically, it should still run the apps if they were designed for that version. You might try rebooting the phone or checking for any local backups that might help restore some functionality, but these options may be limited. Some users have had moderate success by resetting their devices but be warned, data loss can occur.
