I recently built my first PC and I have a 9800X3D paired with a B850 Aorus Elite motherboard and a 3080 graphics card. While I'm playing games like Valorant and PUBG, my AIO display is showing CPU usage at 106%, even though my temperatures are around 57-62°C. This is my first experience with an AMD CPU; I used to have an Intel i9-10900KF, so I'm not sure if such high CPU usage is typical. I'm concerned about potential overheating since I've heard of the 9800X3D having issues in the past. Is there anything I can do to resolve this high CPU usage?

High CPU usage can be normal during intense gaming sessions, especially with FPS-heavy titles. If you're seeing 106%, then your monitoring software might be the problem. You should check your usage in the Task Manager for accurate readings. Generally, as long as temps are in check, your CPU should be fine.
Seeing over 100% CPU usage seems weird because that's technically not possible — it might just be a glitch in the monitoring software. High CPU usage can happen when you're pushing your system with demanding games, but it won't harm your CPU. Your AIO might be misreading the stats. Try using MSI Afterburner or another tool to double-check your CPU usage instead.
I’m currently using KANALI and L Connect, and I wonder if they aren’t good for tracking CPU usage? They show high usage even while idle.
It sounds like your software might just be summing up thread usage incorrectly. If you're using a program that displays all cores and threads separately, it could lead to readings that exceed 100%. Checking the Task Manager will give you the most accurate overview of what's happening.

Okay, thanks for the advice! I'll keep an eye on Task Manager to see what it reports.
