I'm having trouble adjusting the brightness on my Acer desktop monitor since it doesn't seem to have manual controls. I noticed I can't find the brightness option in the system menu at the top right of my screen. I've downloaded a tar.bz2 file for an app, but I'm unsure how to install it correctly. Also, I tried using an app called Brightness Controller, but it keeps crashing. Any help for this ultranoob would be much appreciated!
