How Can I Audit 32-bit Excel Macros?

I've been tasked by leadership to investigate the 32-bit Office installations since they want to phase them out entirely. I'm looking for ways to audit the following: 1) Which macros are actively being used, 2) Which of these macros are compatible with 64-bit, and 3) How to modify them to ensure they work in a 64-bit environment, if possible. We have Intune available and also use Nexthink for monitoring, but my research indicates that this process won't be simple. I'm willing to give it a shot, though!

Are you referring to 32-bit plugins or maybe ODBC drivers? That could influence what you find in your audit.

Just a heads up, macros themselves don’t have a bitness since VBA is interpreted rather than compiled like traditional programming languages. However, they might interact with DLLs and ActiveX controls. Some users get really creative with their macros, like one of our clients who uses a component that includes the Chromium Embedded Framework (CEF), which is compatible with 64-bit.
