How Can I Boot from Hiren’s BootCD Without Accessing My Main Drive?

I'm trying to install Insightfull for my freelance work, which is a program that can take screenshots and record, among other things. The issue is that I only have one PC (Windows), and I really don't want to give my clients access to my personal files. I thought about booting from a USB drive to keep them out of my main environment, but when I do that, I can still see my native system in the file manager. It's like discovering partitions for the first time!

I want to know if there's a simple way to make my laptop ignore the hard drive completely when booting from the USB. I'm hesitant to create a virtual machine because I worry that Insightfull won't function properly, and my clients might catch on. I'm considering just getting a cheap laptop specifically for work, but I'd prefer to find a solution that keeps my privacy intact. Any suggestions?

You might be in a bit of a tricky spot here. Since you're not using a company-provided device, you could buy a separate machine just for work. That way, you'd keep your personal files completely isolated, which I think is a smart move.

Agreed! Having a work laptop really does help keep things organized. Plus, that way you can take it to cafes without the worry of mixing personal and work tasks.

If you want to keep your privacy intact, you could pull out the hard drive when booting from the USB. It sounds extreme, but it’s effective and would definitely keep your personal files secure.

Wait, you think that's actually easy? How would you even do that without messing things up?
