I'm building a new gaming PC and planning to use an RTX 5080 alongside a 9800X3D for optimal performance without breaking the bank. One concern is that my two cats, especially the fluffy one who sheds a lot, love to sit on everything. Since the PC will likely be on the ground, I'm worried about how to maintain effective CPU cooling while preventing it from becoming a hotbox if my cats decide to take a nap on top. What are the best cooling solutions that can accommodate this? I'm open to both AIO and air coolers, but I'd like a case that allows powerful cooling options without relying heavily on top ventilation.

For a straightforward setup, just a rear exhaust fan is usually enough. I'd lean towards air cooling since AIOs typically need top exhaust, which might not be ideal. Some cases, like the Define 7, are designed more for silence than airflow. But honestly, the warmth from the exhaust won’t be enough to cook your cats! They'll likely just move if they're not comfy up there. ;P
Consider using a front radiator or air cooler along with a rear exhaust fan. Most tower cases will support this layout and keep everything cool without taking a hit from cat fur.

Haha, fair enough! I'm mostly worried about them creating a little hotbox inside the case, but it sounds like it's manageable. Thanks for the advice!
