How can I channel my gaming competitiveness into my solo school project?

I realize that I only feel that strong competitive drive when I'm gaming, like when I'm playing Valorant with friends. I'm focused, determined, and want to improve. But when it comes to my solo school project, I struggle to find that same motivation. There are no teammates, no competition, and it just doesn't feel as engaging as gaming does. I've even tried to gamify the project, but it didn't work out. I'm looking for ways to ignite that same energy I get from gaming while working alone. Has anyone else experienced this, and how did you overcome it?

You need to remember that ultimately, the grades and projects are for you. Imagine yourself as the person looking at your resume in the future. Would you rather have the same boring school projects as everyone else, or stand out with something polished and impressive? It's all about building your future, so put in the effort for yourself!

Consider trying something called "body doubling." It often helps people stay focused, especially those with ADHD. It won’t give you the same adrenaline rush as gaming, but it can keep you on track. Find someone to work around, even if it's just virtually, and it might help you focus better during your project.

Could you share more about body doubling? I have ADHD, and staying focused can be a real challenge.
