You should definitely talk to your IT department. They can clarify who has access to what. And just as several people mentioned, avoid storing personal stuff on your work system—it's a slippery slope.
A couple of things to keep in mind: first, if you’re using a work computer, remember that these files don’t belong to you—they’re company property. Don't store personal stuff on there. Also, any reasonable IT department has access to C$ for maintenance, so it could just be them doing their job. If you're looking for logs, a simple Google search might help you find out how to apply audit policies, which can track user access to specific files.
Make sure your organization has the right controls in place. If everyone has local admin rights, that's a different conversation.
