I'm concerned that my employer might give me a laptop running Ubuntu that has some sort of monitoring software or hidden scripts installed. I want to find out if there's a way to check for things like keyboard or mouse activity tracking. I know Prey Project is already installed, so I'm assuming they might be snooping on my home directory too. Any ideas on how I could investigate this?

Honestly, just assume that everything you do on your work laptop is being monitored. It’s a work device, so it’s likely they have some level of tracking set up. Best just to focus on your tasks while using it!
Haha, I hear you! It's probably best to keep it professional and not stress too much.
