How can I clean up old logs in the Intune portal?

I'm looking for advice on how to clear old data from the logs in the Intune portal. Currently, I'm dealing with a situation where it shows I have 28 apps that failed to install and 18 configuration policies with errors or conflicts. When I check the details, the timestamps for some of these issues date back to May of last year, indicating that they might have been resolved ages ago. Additionally, the same computer appears multiple times with various usernames for an app that's already successfully installed. This clutter makes it hard to find relevant information. Is there a way to tidy up these logs to get rid of the outdated entries?

If I remember right, that info comes from the registry. I use a script that helps clear a lot of failed installs, but it doesn’t catch everything, so it’s not a perfect fix. It’s definitely something that needs a better solution from Microsoft.

Have you thought about removing inactive devices from your Intune scope? Since I use a hybrid environment with SCCM, I can filter out inactive devices and sync the remaining ones automatically. But if your devices are still active, it's tricky. The conflict logs can be misleading since they reflect a specific user's activity ages ago. It would be helpful if those logs could self-trim after a set time.

We’re experiencing the same frustration. It's even more complicated for us since we have shared devices. I really wish there was a way to filter out that clutter.

I asked Copilot about this, and it turns out you can't actually purge old logs from Intune. Your best option is to force a sync when the specific user is logged into the PC or consider retiring/deleting the device from Intune entirely. It would be great if Microsoft could implement a feature to clear out old, irrelevant data automatically after a certain period. Also, for a device-specific logging system, it would be ideal to log conflicts just once per device instead of for every user who logs in.
