Hey everyone, I'm using Windows 11 and I've been dealing with an ad that pops up in Firefox every time I start my computer. It gets blocked by my adblocker, but it's still frustrating. I've run Malwarebytes and my antivirus software, and I even looked into the Task Scheduler for any suspicious tasks but couldn't find anything. However, I did notice that there was a cmd.exe in my startup applications that wasn't there before. I disabled it, and now the ad doesn't show up anymore, but I still feel uneasy about it. Is there anything else I should do to ensure it's completely gone? Thanks for your help!

You might want to check out Autoruns from the Sysinternals suite. It can give you details on where that cmd.exe is coming from and help identify if it's linked to any threats. It's really handy for digging deeper into startup items!
If you're still worried about it, make sure to run a few additional scans. Programs like HitmanPro or Emsisoft can sometimes catch things that others miss. Always better to be safe!
I'll give that a shot when I'm back at home. I did some searching, but since the ad's coming from a video game, my adblocker says it's from g0st.com, and I couldn't find too much information.
