I'm struggling to completely uninstall McAfee from my HP Windows laptop. I've tried removing it through the 'installed apps' section in settings, but all it does is prompt me for permission to make changes. After clicking yes, it takes me to the subscription page, and clicking no doesn't help either. Is there a straightforward way to get rid of this software, or am I stuck with it forever?

If it’s still giving you trouble, consider reinstalling Windows using a USB boot drive. Some software can be really stubborn, and that could be your best bet to clean everything up.
You might find it helpful to right-click on the McAfee program and select 'Run as administrator' when trying to uninstall it. Sometimes that gives it the permission it needs to remove itself properly.
You should definitely try the MCPR tool from McAfee. It’s designed specifically for this kind of problem and can help you remove it completely. Just follow the instructions on their support page!
I’ve had success with third-party software like Revo or Spybot for removing stubborn programs like McAfee. Just be cautious and read reviews before you download anything.
Have you tried going through the Control Panel? Just type 'Control Panel' in the search bar, and you should be able to uninstall it from there. Sometimes it works better than the settings app.
Revo Uninstaller has worked wonders for me! It not only uninstalls McAfee but also cleans up any leftover files and registry entries. I recommend downloading it if you’re having trouble. If all else fails, reinstalling Windows could be an option, though it’s a bit of a hassle.
I’ve been using Revo for over a decade now. It’s efficient and really helps tidy up your system.
You could also go into File Explorer, search for McAfee on your C: drive, and delete its installation files manually. Just a heads up, a lot of people face issues completely removing it, so you’re not alone!

Totally agree! Revo has been my go-to for years. I usually start by uninstalling other junk first and then use Revo to manage everything else. It's also great for handling startup programs.
