How Can I Connect My Xbox to Public WiFi?

I've been dealing with a strange issue: I'm staying somewhere that only offers public WiFi, and I'm trying to connect my Xbox console, but it's just not working. I've attempted to match the MAC address and that's been a dead end. I even looked into MiFi options and unlimited SIM cards, but since I'm only here for a short time, that didn't pan out either. I'm really running out of ideas for getting my Xbox online, not to mention finding a better connection for my other devices. If anyone has suggestions on how to make my console connect to this public WiFi or any temporary solutions to improve my internet access while I'm here, I'd really appreciate it!

You should also look into WiFi extenders or boosters if you can find one that works for your situation. They can sometimes enhance the signal depending on where you are and may give you a more stable connection for gaming.

Sounds frustrating! If your Xbox connected briefly, it might be an issue with the public network itself cutting off the connection after a short time. You might want to see if there's a way to set it as a static IP or reach out to the place for help. Sometimes public networks have settings that prevent gaming consoles from staying online.

Have you considered using a mobile hotspot? It's a quick fix if you need internet right away! Just keep in mind that it can chew through data pretty fast, especially when you're gaming. You could also check if any local cafes provide free WiFi that you could use for your console.

Yeah, I’ve tried using a hotspot, but the data runs out too quickly when I'm gaming. Looking for something a bit more sustainable.
