I'm trying to build a PC but want to keep the costs down without risking performance. I don't care about aesthetics, just want good quality parts without overspending. Is there any way to make my current build cheaper, and should I be concerned about any compatibility issues with the parts I have selected?

Definitely! You could switch the current motherboard to a B650 model instead. It won't drastically affect your performance and should save you some bucks, too. Just be cautious with the power supply—check its ratings on the tier list to make sure it's reliable.
To save some cash, skip the 'white tax' on certain parts. For instance, consider getting a standard Ryzen 5 7600 instead of the more expensive 7600X; they perform almost the same, and the stock cooler should be enough for it. You could save about £137 there!
Good point! Just be sure that the OEM cooler can handle a gaming load without overheating, especially with heavy graphics.
Your build looks solid, but you could also consider alternatives for the case and might find a cheaper motherboard that still gives you PCIe 4.0 support.
Interesting! I'm still learning – does the motherboard really affect FPS?
I agree, and don't solely focus on saving money. Put some of those savings into a better cooler or faster storage in the future.
