I'm trying to clear some photos off my SD card using an adapter on my MacBook, but I'm having trouble. When I drag the photos to the trash, nothing happens. I've also attempted to wipe the SD card through Disk Utility, but that didn't work either. Is there a way to delete the photos without doing it directly from the camera? Thanks for any help!

If you're still having trouble, you could use deletion or overwrite software to manage the files. After that, you could overwrite it with a large file or even just break it for security!
The best method to delete everything from an SD card is to reformat it using the camera itself. I usually transfer photos to my computer first, and then use the camera's format option to clean it for the next use. Just make sure the card isn't locked!
Some SD cards have a physical lock slider on the side. If it's accidentally switched to the lock position, it will prevent you from deleting anything. Check that first!
Don't forget to check for that slider lock on the card, it could be what’s causing the problem!

That seemed to be the problem, thank you!
