I've been dealing with repeated black screens on my computer, and it seems like it's getting worse. It started with browser crashes, then the screen would black out completely. Now, when I try to reboot, it usually just shows a black screen. Occasionally, I can access the BIOS, but after loading the default settings and logging into Windows, it crashes again almost immediately. I've already reseated all the hardware and cleaned out some dust. The BIOS shows that the CPU temperatures are normal, and all the fans, including the PSU fan, are functioning. I thought I heard a strange noise from the socket, but I'm not sure if that's connected. What are my next steps to figure out if it's definitely the PSU that's causing these problems?

To narrow down the issue, you should try testing your RAM with Memtest86+. That can help identify if the memory is causing the black screens. You can boot from a USB to run the test. It might be labor-intensive, but it’s worth checking memory first!
You'll really need a different power supply to test. If swapping out the PSU doesn’t help, then it could be your motherboard that's failing. It's a bit of a hassle since you might need spare parts to thoroughly diagnose the problem.

Yeah, it seems like finding spare parts could be tough right now. Maybe I’ll just look into a new PSU first to rule it out.
