How Can I Disable Motion Smoothing on My LG TV for HDR Content?

I just got my new LG ThinQ 55UT81 TV and I'm struggling with motion smoothing. I've managed to turn it off for most content, but whenever I watch something in HDR, it automatically turns back on even though the setting shows it's off. I've combed through all the settings but can't find anything related to motion smoothing. Does anyone have advice on how to permanently disable this annoying feature?

Have you tried switching to a film mode? Sometimes those settings help with the motion smoothing issue.

I totally get it! I've encountered this issue too, and while I can usually turn off HDR for most things, it’s still a pain for the few movies where I can’t. I wish manufacturers would make the settings more straightforward!

Honestly, if motion smoothing is bothering you, I’d consider returning the TV. It can be a real dealbreaker for a lot of folks. I get how frustrating it is!
