Hey there! I just got an iPad from someone else and I'm a bit worried about whether it's safe from viruses. They claimed they only used it once and then reset it, but I want to be 100% sure before I start using it. I even went to an Apple store for help, but they said they couldn't check it for me. What are some steps I can take to ensure this device is virus-free?

Unless the iPad is jailbroken, it can't really get viruses like regular computers. Most antivirus apps available on the App Store don't provide actual virus scanning, so they aren’t worth getting. Just reset it to factory settings to be safe!
If you got the iPad from someone else, it's a good idea to erase it completely and set it up as a new device. Even though malware on iPadOS is pretty rare, this way you can be sure it’s clean. Just go ahead and do a factory reset before using it. It's the safest option!
Honestly, you probably don’t need to worry too much. Just resetting the iPad should be enough to ensure it's clean. If you want to be extra cautious, you could download a virus protection app, but they're not usually necessary for iPads.
I agree! Just a factory reset should do the trick. Those protection apps aren't usually effective anyway.

Yeah, doing a factory reset is really the best choice. It eliminates any old data and gives you a fresh start!
