I'm considering making the leap to Linux since Windows 10 is no longer being supported, and I want to switch from my current setup. I'm looking for a laptop that can handle gaming, and although I'd love to build a new PC, I've decided to explore installing Linux on my current laptop, a Lenovo Legion 5 Pro 16ITH6H. My main concern is whether all of my hardware will be compatible, especially the graphics drivers since I've heard that compatibility can be hit or miss. I plan to do a live boot first, but I'd like to know if my laptop is generally compatible with Linux before diving in.

If your laptop runs Windows, that's a good sign that Linux will work, often even better! Just keep that in mind as a general rule. It's typically smooth sailing when switching over.

Is that true no matter which distribution I pick? I’ve read that Linux Mint is a solid starting point, but I’m curious what to expect if I decide on others later.
