I'm stuck on a screen every time I turn on my MacBook Air M1, and I need to format it. When I try to format the disk, I get an error saying it can't be mounted. I'm looking to access internet recovery mode, but I can't seem to get past this screen. Any ideas on how to exit and proceed?

It sounds like you might need to access the startup options. Try holding down the Option key while starting up your Mac to see if it lets you boot from a recovery partition or external drive.
I don't have an external drive handy. Is there another way?
