How can I extend my C: drive if there’s a recovery partition in the way?

Hey everyone! I have an HP Envy x360 and I'm running into some issues due to low space on my C: drive. I can't update Windows, my speakers aren't working, and I'm also having trouble with my internet connection, even trying to connect via a hotspot.

I've got around 100 GB of unallocated space and about 200 GB on my D: drive, while my C: drive only has 85 GB. The problem is that there's a 650 MB recovery partition sitting between C: and the unallocated space. Here's how it looks:

300MB EFI - 85GB C: - 650MB recovery - 245GB D: - 100GB unused - 50GB E:

I want to figure out how to fix this myself since I really don't want to spend a lot of money at a repair shop, and I'd prefer not to buy a new laptop. Thanks for any help you can offer!

To extend your C: drive, you need to move the unallocated space right next to it. You can use partition management software for this. After moving the unused partition next to C:, you should be able to expand it. If you're considering deleting the recovery partition though, double-check if you really need it—there are pros and cons to both options.

You can try this: run `reagentc /disable` in Command Prompt with admin rights to disable the recovery partition. After that, you should be able to delete it. Here's a helpful guide on how to do this: [Moving Windows Recovery Partition Correctly](https://thedxt.ca/2023/06/moving-windows-recovery-partition-correctly/). Just a caution—make sure to back up your data before proceeding!

I suggest getting Minitool Partition Wizard; it's free and should allow you to move your partitions around easily. Should make your task a lot simpler!
