I'm looking to squeeze a few extra years out of my old PC rather than shelling out for an entirely new build, especially with how pricey DDR5 RAM is right now. Currently, I have an MSI X470 GAMING PLUS MAX motherboard, an NVIDIA RTX 2060 Super GPU that's around 7 years old, an AMD Ryzen 5 3600 CPU, 32GB of 3200MHz DDR4 RAM, and a Cooler Master Hyper 212 cooler. I was thinking of upgrading to a Ryzen 7 5700X CPU and possibly getting a new GPU, either from AMD's 6000 series or NVIDIA's 3000 series. Would these upgrades be worth it? Also, is it feasible to sell my RTX 2060, and how can I avoid scams if I decide to buy a used GPU? By the way, I have a 750W Bronze PSU.

Honestly, I think your current rig has more potential than you think. A good CPU upgrade will help, but don’t forget that you might just need to boost your GPU when you really need it. Selling your RTX 2060 should be easy enough; it’s still a decent card for 1080p gaming.
What's your budget like? If you can keep your CPU upgrade under $200 and GPU under $350, you’d be in good shape. Just remember, some of the CPU models like the 5900X are a bit over your budget but worth a look if you can find a good deal.
Yeah, I’m aiming for under $200 for the CPU and around $350 for the GPU. I realize it's tough to get something new right now with the pricing but I'm willing to look around.
I’d suggest going for the Ryzen 7 5700X for sure, as it’ll give you a solid performance boost and keep you relevant for a while. As for the GPU, if you feel your current one isn't cutting it, then upgrading would be a great idea too! Just make sure to check compatibility with your mobo before purchasing anything.
Totally agree! The 5700X is a sweet spot price-wise and performance-wise. I think your RTX 2060 Super will still hold you up in many games unless you’re aiming for maximum settings.

Yeah, if you’re upgrading, I'd hold off selling the 2060 until you have the new GPU in hand. You never know how long it might take to sell, and it’s still a solid card!
