I'm trying to factory reset a school Chromebook, but when I use the Ctrl + Shift + Alt + R keyboard shortcut, it just restarts and all the school settings are still there. I'm not really sure what else to do here. Anyone have tips for getting around this?

Have you tried following the step-by-step guide on how to factory reset a Chromebook? Check this link I found: https://www.currys.co.uk/techtalk/computing/laptops/how-to-factory-reset-a-chromebook.html#:~:text=Follow%20these%20steps%20if%20you,and%20'Power'%20buttons%20simultaneously. It might help, but again, if the MDM is active, it might not work.
From what I understand, the hardware is linked to your school's mobile device management (MDM) account. So, every time it boots up, the school's configurations are automatically installed, which means you won't be able to reset it without their permission. You're pretty much stuck unless they let you unlock it.
Before going for a reset, just check if you're even allowed to do that. Factory resets can sometimes cause issues with school policies.
Your school likely has it locked down, which is why your user account can't perform a factory reset. Unless you've got access to their system, it sounds like you might be out of luck on this one.
