I recently got back my old iPod Touch (7th Gen) from my sister, but she forgot all her info on it since she hasn't used it in almost 2 years. I'm looking for a way to factory reset the device without jailbreaking it, using iTunes, or taking it to an Apple Store. Should I just give up and buy a new one, or is there another option? Any advice would be appreciated!

If your sister forgot both her passcode and Apple ID details, that complicates things a bit. If it's just the passcode, you can usually restore it easily, but since she can't remember her Apple ID either, she might need to go through the account recovery process or possibly submit a request for activation lock removal if you have proof of purchase. Since Apple doesn't sell the iPod Touch anymore, it might be tough to find a new one, so it could be worth looking at second-hand options nearby if you don't manage to get this one reset.
There are some third-party programs that claim to help with unlocking and reseting devices, but use them with caution since they can vary in effectiveness and safety. Just make sure you read reviews and use trusted software. However, if it's locked due to Apple account issues, there's not much else you can do outside of Apple's processing.
