Hey everyone! I'm looking to factory reset my laptop that came with Windows 10 already installed. I want to make sure I do a clean install without losing my license. Any advice on how to go about this? Thanks!

You shouldn't lose your license during a clean install! It's tied to your hardware, so as long as you reinstall on the same machine, it will be activated automatically when you connect to the internet. Consider using a USB drive for a more reliable clean install instead of the built-in factory reset feature.
Just so you know, if your laptop has an OEM Windows license, it's stored in the BIOS. So, a clean install will work as long as you delete everything on your system drive and reinstall using a USB. It's way better than the factory reset option, which isn't the best method.
Great, thanks for the heads up! I'll follow your advice.

Thanks for the resource! What do you think about the factory reset method?
Thanks for clarifying! If I do a clean install, can I somehow back up my license just in case?
