I'm currently working part-time in a warehouse from 4 AM to 9 AM, and I'm eager to get into the IT field. My long-term goal is to end up in cybersecurity, specifically pen testing, but I haven't gained enough networking or experience to be sure that's the direction I want to take. I have my Google Cybersecurity Certificate, and I'm starting college for cybersecurity in January next year. I'm looking for any entry-level IT positions, like desktop support or similar opportunities. I live in the Pasadena/Southeast Houston area but am willing to travel up to an hour for the right job. Any advice or leads on how to get started would be greatly appreciated!

It's a tough field to break into right now, but persistence is key. Keep applying and don't get discouraged. Networking can help too; maybe check out some local meetups or industry events.
Have you thought about applying to Best Buy for their Geek Squad? I know a few people who got their start there. It’s a good place to gain experience with customer service and technical troubleshooting.
Definitely apply everywhere! Look into local job fairs, print out some resumes and visit small businesses to see if they need tech support. Temp agencies can also help you find short-term roles that could lead to something more permanent.
Just a tip: Make sure your basic certifications like A+ or Network+ are up to date as many entry-level positions require them. Also, local managed service providers (MSPs) often look for entry-level help.
I actually started with Geek Squad as well. It was a great entry point for learning about common tech issues and getting my resume rolling.
