I've been tripping over my laptop's charging cord a lot, and I think I've damaged the charging port. It's become nearly impossible to charge my laptop unless I hold the cord just right. In one position, it seems to connect well enough, but I don't know how long that will last. The connector tends to droop down, making it difficult to find the right angle to keep it working. How can I fix this?

If your charging port is damaged, you might need to solder on a new one. Most laptops have their charging ports soldered onto the motherboard, so a repair shop could help, depending on your laptop model. Also, check if your laptop has a USB Type-C port; you might be able to use that for charging instead.
First, figure out whether the issue is with your power supply or the port. If it’s the power supply, just get a new one. If it’s the port, consider getting a USB-C charger with matching wattage to use a different working port or replace the port yourself.
This could turn into a soldering project. If you want to go that way, make sure to practice and do your research first. But honestly, sometimes it's just not worth the risk and paying a pro might be the better choice.
