I'm having trouble with my car's USB port, which I need to connect my phone for GPS display. The connection is really loose, and if I so much as nudge the cable, it disconnects. It takes forever to reconnect, sometimes even requiring me to unplug and replug the cable. I've tried using new cables, but the problem seems to be the USB port itself. Are there any workarounds? I'm considering something like a tiny USB adapter to maintain the connection but not sure if that exists. Any suggestions?

Yeah, if just touching the cable causes disconnections, it sounds like replacing the USB port might be your best option. That way, you won’t have to worry about it anymore.
If your car supports it, look into getting a wireless CarPlay adapter. You plug it into the USB port and it should let you connect your phone wirelessly. To keep it stable, you could secure it with some tape, glue, or even wedge something against it to limit movement.
One straightforward solution is to pop off the panel and replace the faulty USB port with a new one. It's a bit of a DIY task but can be done if you're comfortable with that sort of thing!
You might also want to consider using a short right-angle USB adapter or a wireless dongle for Android Auto or CarPlay. This way, you're not constantly adjusting a loose connection.
