Hey everyone, I'm trying to clear some memory on my PC. I recently downloaded a game that was around 80GB, and after uninstalling it, the files are gone, but my PC still shows that I'm 80GB short. I can't figure out why the space isn't being released for further use. Does anyone have any ideas on how to fix this?

Make sure you also removed the setup file, not just the game itself. Running the built-in Disk Cleanup tool could help too, especially if you check the option to remove system files. It can handle old updates and free up some extra GBs!
Check your C drive properties in File Explorer and use the disk tools for freeing up space. Get rid of cache, empty the trash, and consider getting a larger drive if you're often running low on space.
Don’t forget to refresh your download platform, like Steam. Sometimes, it doesn’t immediately recognize that you've uninstalled software, so refreshing can help sync everything up.
I recommend downloading a program called 'Everything' by Voidtools. It’s a really fast file search tool that can help you find leftover files from the game that might not have been deleted. It’s way better than the standard Windows search!
When you delete a file, it typically just means that Windows marks it as unused, but the actual data still remains until that space is written over. A simple reboot might resolve the issue and let your system recognize the free space again.
