I ran a scan with Malwarebytes today, and it flagged Web Companion as a potentially unwanted program (PUP). However, when I tried to uninstall it, I received a message saying the uninstaller couldn't be found or that it was already uninstalled. Even using Revo Uninstaller didn't help. Does anyone have insights on why this might be happening and how to completely get rid of this application?

It sounds like Web Companion might have left behind some files even after the uninstallation. Sometimes, malware can resist being fully removed. What you can do is check the folders where it would typically be installed and delete any leftover files manually. You should also check for any browser plugins that might not have gone away during the uninstall process. Malwarebytes should list any files it’s still detecting as problematic, so use that info to guide your cleanup.
If it still shows up in your search bar, there might be remnants in your browser’s settings. You could try resetting your browser settings to see if that clears it up. Also, if you have any specific paths flagged by Malwarebytes, that would be a good place to start looking for leftover files. And don’t forget to uninstall any associated browser extensions!
