How Can I Get a Refund for a Subscription I Forgot to Cancel?

I recently faced a charge of $42 for an app subscription I signed up for with a 7-day free trial, which I completely forgot to cancel. Additionally, my younger sibling spent $6 on a game while using my iPad, and I tried to get a refund for that too. I contacted Apple support, but both of my refund requests were marked as "ineligible". I heard that other people have had better luck getting refunds by contacting support, but the agent advised me that their decision on refunds is final. I'm really in need of my money back and any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Looks like you're out of luck, unfortunately. Just remember to cancel any subscriptions right after starting the free trial moving forward — it'll save you headaches like this!

You're definitely not alone in this! My spouse recently signed up for a $60 subscription without realizing it, and now it looks like we're going to lose that money too. Apple typically doesn’t issue refunds unless there’s a clear mistake, so don’t get your hopes too high. Just keep a close eye on subscription dates in the future to avoid this again!

Honestly, these subscription models are designed to keep people paying. In the future, try to cancel trials immediately so you don’t forget! And definitely secure your account better if your younger sibling is using it to avoid unintentional purchases.

Those free trials can be tricky since they bank on people forgetting to cancel. If you really want a refund, you could try contacting support again and explaining your situation, but be warned that pushing for a chargeback could lead to Apple closing your account, which might mean losing all your purchased apps. It's a risky move!

In situations like this, it's crucial to remember to cancel any subscriptions before the free trial ends if you're not planning to keep it. As for your sibling's spending, you might want to ask them to chip in for the $6 if you're sharing the account. It really does help keep things clear!
