How Can I Get an Extra 8-Pin PCI-E Cable for My PSU?

I just got a GeForce RTX 3080 Ti, but my PSU, the Cooler Master MWE 850 Gold V3, only came with two 8-pin PCI-E cables. I've noticed some others on forums are facing the same problem of not having an additional cable. Does anyone know how I can acquire one, or can you recommend any good PSUs that come with three cables or are easy to find? I was thinking about the MSI MAG A850GL in white, but I'm not too sure about it.

You should reach out to Cooler Master directly about getting that third PCI-E cable. They might be able to help you out since others seem to have had the same issue. Good luck!

I hear you, I’ve seen a lot of folks having trouble getting extra cables from CM.

Another option is to just buy a new PSU that fits your needs right from the start. There are plenty of solid PSUs out there that come with multiple 8-pin cables, making it easier for setups like yours!

Your PSU indeed comes with two separate cables that have pigtail connectors. A lot of high-quality PSUs are designed to handle these, and it's mainly the cheaper ones that have issues with them. Just so you know, the A850GL you’re considering also comes with two pigtail cables, so it’s pretty similar. By the way, you might want to check reviews on sites like TechPowerUp for more details and pictures!

Hey, that's interesting! I read somewhere that you should avoid using the pigtails. Did something change?
