I just found my old PHANTOM USB webcam and when I plug it into my computer, it shows up as a device but doesn't get recognized as a camera. Is there any way to make it work, especially on Discord or similar applications?

You definitely need to install drivers for your webcam. Make sure to search for the make and model online and check the manufacturer's site for any available downloads. It's worth a shot!

Thanks! I’ll look into it and see if I can find the drivers.

Another tip, sometimes drivers from similar models can work too, so don't hesitate to explore a bit more!

First off, if it's not detecting properly, it may be broken. But before throwing it out, try checking if it has the latest drivers. You can usually find drivers on the manufacturer's website.

If you're on Linux, you can use the `lsusb` command with the verbose flag to see more details about the device. For Windows, check Device Manager, but know you'll only see one property at a time. Look up the Product and Vendor ID to see if others had success with it. You might find useful info at linux-hardware.org.
