I've been using Linux for five years, starting from when I was in 10th grade. I've always found programming a bit intimidating, but I'm ready to dive in and start learning, specifically with Rust. I want to know if it's realistic to land an entry-level or lower-paying job by just learning Rust, especially in systems programming. I've tried HTML and CSS before, but designing web pages isn't really my thing. I enjoy tinkering with Linux and feel like I have a solid grasp of programming concepts. I even did some coding in Python during school, so I have a bit of knowledge. Ideally, I'd love to connect with open source projects. Salary isn't my main concern—I just want to learn how to create things on my own and help others build stuff too.

It's definitely possible to find entry-level positions focusing on Rust, but the reality is it might not be easy. Employers are often looking for more experience, so you'll need to establish your skills through personal projects or contributions to open-source. Start by building small projects in Rust to showcase your abilities.
Keep in mind that learning programming takes time. While your goal is to find a job soon, it's important to enjoy the learning process. It's unlikely you'll master everything in just a couple of months, but combining study with practical projects could really help speed your learning.
I get that it may take years, but I'm okay with a low-paying job to support myself while I learn.
