I've got a bit of a tricky situation here. I'm a summer intern and stumbled upon an iPad Pro 2 in pristine condition, but there's a catch—the iPad belonged to someone who's no longer with the company. So, the Apple account linked to it is inaccessible since their work email has been disabled due to their termination. I also know the phone number tied to the account, but it's no longer active either. I've tried contacting Apple Support, but they said there's nothing they can do without proof of purchase. Since the company bought the iPad several years ago and doesn't keep that kind of record, I'm kind of stuck. My boss said I could keep the iPad if I can reset it. Is there any way to wipe the iPad? Could I take it to a kiosk at the mall for a backdoor method?

Have you tried recreating the email associated with the original Apple account? If you can do that, it might help you reset your access. Just make sure it matches that old email exactly!
You might want to consider reaching out to your IT or finance department. They might have a record of the purchase, and if you can get a receipt, it could help you with Apple directly.
I checked, but they don’t keep records for terminated employees that long. It’s a bit of a dead end unfortunately.
If you know the email and phone number, you can attempt a recovery at iforgot.apple.com. Just select the options for not having access to either one, and it should guide you through the recovery process.
I tried that, but it keeps telling me I need access to the email or phone number to reset. It's like hitting a wall!
That might not work since the email is owned by the company, and I can't create an account under their domain.
