Hey everyone! I'm looking to buy a surprise gift for my partner, but the store is a bit out of the way. I know my partner tracks my location using Find My, and I really don't want them to discover where I am before I can get the gift. I want to disable location sharing for about an hour or so, just enough time to pick up the item and get back to a busy area. I had thought about using airplane mode or turning off my phone, but I've read conflicting advice online. What's the best way to do this? Thanks for your help!

Just go into your iCloud settings, find the Find My section, and turn off 'Share My Location' for the hour you're out. It’ll show up as 'No location found,' which should keep your partner in the dark!
If you want to be extra careful, just turn off Location Services entirely in your settings. This makes it impossible for anyone to track you until you turn it back on! My kid does this to me sometimes, and it really can be effective. 😂
Another option is to change your primary Find My device to an iPad that you leave at home. That way, your phone is free to roam without sharing your location. Just make sure to leave it somewhere visible so it doesn't look suspicious!

You can hide your location by opening the Find My app, going to the 'Me' tab, and turning off 'Share My Location.' This will stop sharing your location without notifying your partner, so it's a sneaky way to keep the surprise intact! I do this whenever I’m buying gifts too.
