How can I identify an unknown external identity in Cross-tenant access settings?

I'm currently reviewing some systems, and I've come across a confusing entry in Entra under External Identities. In the Cross-tenant access settings, I see two organizations listed. One is our trusted MSP, but the other is labeled "TD SYNNEX US (Stellr)". I have no idea who they are or why they're listed there. Both entries have their inbound/outbound access and tenant restrictions set to "Inherited from default". I'm trying to figure out how to identify what this organization is for. Are there any logs I can check or related settings I should look into? I've done some research on TD SYNNEX and Stellr, but nothing rings a bell and our MSP is also unaware of them.

Ah, I can't help but wish for a world where IT licensing isn't such a mess. Even folks in the MS licensing team find it confusing sometimes. Maybe one day it will be clearer!

I’d love to switch to all open source if I could. It just seems more straightforward! But that’s probably a long shot.

To dive deeper, go to the M365 admin center and check Billing > Your Products. You should see your subscriptions there. If not, select "change billing account" to find the right one. Look for a column titled "Purchase Channel"; if it says "reseller," you can find the "Partner Information" that details who is reselling the M365 subscriptions to you. It's quite possible your MSP operates as an indirect reseller through distributors like TD SYNNEX.

TD SYNNEX is known as a license reseller, similar to companies like Ingram or Arrow. They might be the ones supplying the Microsoft 365 licenses that your MSP is offering to you. If you're trying to confirm this, check the licenses section in the Billing subsection of your settings.

That was my initial thought too, but my MSP claimed they don't recognize the name. I guess there's a chance they might not know yet it's tied to them.

I agree that it's likely a license reseller. Just be sure to verify it because it can be tricky.

Verification is the tough part for me; nothing adds up so far.
