I recently had an issue with my AOC monitor and was issued an RMA. Since the specific model was out of stock, AOC instructed me to purchase a 24g4 from Amazon, promising to reimburse me. I received the IPS version, but I'm curious because AOC also has a 24g4 VA 180Hz model. After setting it up, the colors seem off on the sides, and while I can read text at extreme angles, the edges still look strange when viewed directly. I want to confirm which exact panel I received since my display settings only indicate 24g4. Is there a way to verify if I mistakenly got a VA panel instead of the IPS one?

You can try checking the on-screen display menu if your monitor has one. Some models show detailed information about the panel type. If nothing comes up, sometimes you can also check the serial number online to see what type it should be. It’s worth a shot to cross-reference with AOC’s official website!
Did you switch from a curved panel to a flat or vice versa? That might affect how you perceive the colors and angles, but since you mentioned you went from a flat 24g2sp to a flat 24g4, it shouldn't be the issue. Check for any physical labels on the monitor or in the settings that might specify the panel type!
