I'm currently living in a mother-in-law suite, and I'm having serious trouble with the wifi signal. The connection comes from the main house, which means it's pretty slow, and it gets even worse when I try to work from my bedroom. I have a workstation set up, but I can barely load a Google page unless I sit in the kitchen, where the signal is acceptable. There aren't any Ethernet ports available in my suite, only some phone lines that don't seem to work. There are also cable TV hookups, but I have no experience with using a MoCA adapter. What solutions or tips do you have? I'm hesitant to bother my landlords too much, but I need a better setup for my new hybrid job position.

Using a travel router or a wifi repeater in the kitchen could really help boost your signal. They can extend the range and improve the quality of the connection, especially if you can get one with good antennas.
If you can, try to find out the distance between the two houses. If it’s about 10 feet, consider having an electrician run a cable between the properties. It might cost a bit upfront but would give you a solid connection without needing to install a whole new service.
Wired connections can go up to 100 meters. If you use fiber cabling, it can even go further—just make sure you get permission for running cable over that distance.
Just a heads up—it's 'suite' not 'sweet'! But for your signal issue, if you know how far the wifi signal is from your suite, you might need to ask your landlords if you can install a repeater inside their house, closer to your place.
Are you suggesting I need two repeaters? One in their house and then another one in mine?
Since you're getting internet from another property, powerline adapters won’t work. Look into wifi boosters that plug into the wall and relay the wifi signal. They’re fairly inexpensive and can really help!
Thanks for the tip! Do you have any specific models you would recommend for a quality wifi booster?
If you have hotspot capability on your phone, that could work too. I have an 'unlimited' plan that gives me a solid 50 GB of hotspot data each month.

Do you have any recommendations for a quality repeater? I used to play PC games, but now I'm mostly on my Switch, so ping isn’t a huge issue for me.
