I'm looking for a solution to install Microsoft Office for my 80-year-old grandmother who doesn't have internet access at her farm. She recently upgraded to a new laptop but the current MS Office 365 she bought requires online activation every month. This has made it unusable for her because she can't authenticate via a hotspot. I live 8 hours away, and after trying to get help from Best Buy, the solution only lasted for a month. I've thought about older versions of Office or even open-source alternatives, but she prefers sticking with Microsoft products. What can I do to ensure she has a reliable, offline version?

Depending on which Office product she needs, the standalone Office 2024 version is available and should work well. It's about $200 here in Canada and includes Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Just a heads up, some people suggest using a KMS hack, but I’m not sure about the ethics of that.
You can still get perpetual licenses for Microsoft Office that work completely offline. These versions don’t require monthly activation and might be just what you need for your grandmother.

Honestly, with how Microsoft has been lately, I think you're justified if you go that route; you already paid for the software!
