How can I install NyarchAssistant on CachyOS without using Flatpak?

I'm diving into CachyOS since I really want to enjoy using Linux, but I've hit some snags because it's based on Arch. I understand that Flatpak apps aren't the best option here, and I can't use .deb or .rpm packages either, which means I have to rely on the AUR for installations. Some apps work fine this way, but I'm struggling with one in particular—NyarchAssistant. It's an extension for Newelle, which is also an Arch-based distro. The official GitHub page says to install it via Flatpak, but the AUR version seems outdated and doesn't work, showing various dependency errors. After spending hours trying to resolve this with help from ChatGPT and friends, I can't seem to make it work. I've had some luck with the Newelle app using Flatpak, but now I'm stuck with NyarchAssistant. How do I install this extension correctly on CachyOS?

Honestly, you might just have to use Flatpak for this one. The AUR packages can lag behind on updates, and Nyarch Assistant seems to have a lot of dependencies that are tricky to manage right now. It evolves pretty quickly, and the official AUR package isn't keeping pace with the development.

Remember to always include your distro info and any error messages when asking for help! It helps everyone get a clearer picture of your situation!

I totally hear you! That anime art for Arch is iconic. But about your issue, the `-git` version you’ve found on the AUR should technically be up-to-date. It just doesn’t change the version number until you build it, which might be where the confusion comes in.

I see what you mean. I managed to download the AUR -git version, but I ran into a lot of dependency errors when I tried to run NyarchAssistant. If I were to start fresh after deleting everything I downloaded, would you suggest where to begin?
