How Can I Keep My Intel 265K Cool Under Heavy Loads Without Water Cooling?

Hey everyone! I recently built a PC with an Intel 265K and it's cooled by a Pure Rock Pro 3. I've noticed that under heavy load, temperatures can spike to concerning levels. I've got two Noctua NF-A14x25 G2 fans for intake and a Noctua NF-S12A for exhaust, but the cooling isn't cutting it during prolonged tasks.

To provide some background, I've been doing software development and music production, which normally doesn't push my CPU to its limits, so thermal throttling hasn't been a significant concern until now. However, I've started a new project that really tests the CPU's ability and makes it thermal throttle more often under extended high loads (like 20 mins or more).

I want to avoid water cooling if possible. I'm considering replacing my current cooler with one of these options: Noctua NH-D15 G2, Be Quiet! Dark Rock Pro 5, or Thermalright Frost Commander 140. I've heard good things about all three but would love some personal experiences. Also, I want something quiet at regular loads but effective during heavy use. Does anyone have insights on these coolers or alternatives? Am I stuck with my fears about water cooling?

The Noctua NH-D15 G2 is highly regarded as the best air cooler on the market. In tests, it maintained temperatures around 70.4 degrees Celsius, which is significantly cooler than your current cooler (76.5 degrees Celsius). Whether the price difference is worth it is up to you—$150 is a steep price for just 6 degrees.

It's wild how far cooling tech has come! Your CPU shouldn't fry at 80 degrees, so don't stress too much—CPUs can handle that.
