How Can I Keep My Room Cool While Gaming?

My Acer PC heats up my room significantly after about 30 minutes of gaming, turning it into a sauna. My air conditioning isn't effective because the thermostat is located in another room, and in winter I could just open my window for fresh air, but that's not an option now that it's summer. I'm considering buying a standalone AC unit that could vent heat out of my room since my window can't accommodate any traditional setups. I'm looking for advice or alternative solutions to manage this heat problem in my gaming space. Thanks!

Using a box fan can really help with air circulation in and out of the room. Also, think about optimizing your PC for efficiency. That portable AC unit venting from your door might not be super effective. If your windows can open, there are compact AC units that can fit in any slightly larger window.

I’m definitely going to try a box fan, but I prefer to keep my door closed most of the time. My PC needs to be high-performing for other uses beyond gaming, so I can’t downscale that easily. I’ve even thought about designing a custom attachment for the AC to vent under the door, but I’m not sure how practical that would be. My window design is a bit tricky too.

The best way to tackle this issue is decentralization. If you can't find a way to vent the hot air out of the room with fans or AC, consider relocating your PC to a different space entirely.
