I have an Intel i5-11400F paired with an RX 9060 XT with 16GB of VRAM. While playing Red Dead Redemption 2, I've noticed that my GPU usage drops from a solid 99% to around 83% when I'm near or in cities. Is there a way to keep my GPU usage consistently at 99%, and would that actually be beneficial? Also, should I consider upgrading my CPU to eliminate any potential bottleneck? Thanks for any insights!

Your GPU usage is likely dropping because your CPU is struggling to keep up. When it gets overloaded, it can't send frames to the GPU fast enough. You could try raising the game settings to push more load on the GPU, but that might drop your framerate. Ultimately, upgrading the CPU is the real fix to avoid bottlenecks, but if your framerates are still acceptable, you might just want to keep things as they are for now.
A more powerful CPU is definitely needed here. However, you'll probably end up needing a new motherboard and RAM too, especially since there's no worthwhile CPU upgrade for your current setup. If you're aiming for a significant boost, considering newer platforms like AM5 is worth it. If you have access to Micro Center, their bundles can offer great value, especially the 7600X3D.
