How Can I Make My GPT Write Better for RPGs?

Hey everyone, I'm new here and I really need some advice. I've been using a GPT for my free-form RPG writing because I love storytelling, but I'm getting really frustrated. Lately, it keeps pulling in language and structures I can't stand, especially when it uses juxtaposition and other buzzwords that I find annoying. Below are the specific instructions I've set up for it, which worked well for a bit, but now it seems to forget them after just a few prompts. I'm looking for some smarter folks to help me refine these instructions so I can get the output I want without constant reminders!

You can upload a writing sample that reflects the tone you want and then ask it to emulate that style! Here’s a way to phrase it: ``emulate the tone and manner of speaking found in 'tone.txt' when responding to the user.`` That might help steer it in the right direction.

Great tip! This could be exactly what they need to get better results.

Good idea! Those samples could guide the AI much better!

Also, let's be real: saying you're 'dying' for help to get attention isn’t cool. Don't fabricate urgency, it doesn't help.

Honestly, I’m not sure the model is sophisticated enough yet for consistent high-quality content. With all those rules, it’s like trying to get a puppy to stop being playful—it just doesn’t compute. But pushing the tech can help improve it, so keep experimenting!

For sure! Who knows, the more we use it, the better it might get over time.

Right? It's like you're giving it a maze of rules to navigate. Just let it run free a bit!

I think you're expecting too much from the current AI capabilities. It's really good at generating ideas but struggles with creative writing as you might expect from a human. Instead of enforcing tons of rules, which just complicates things, maybe focus on a few main guidelines. Keep it simple, and you'll save tokens while still getting decent outcomes!

Yeah, I agree! Sometimes keeping things concise can lead to better results. Just let it do its thing without too many limitations.

Exactly, don’t try to control every detail. It can still create cool stuff with a bit of freedom.

Have you tried looking up unslop jailbreaks or roleplay jailbreaks for ChatGPT? Those might help you get the results you’re looking for.

That’s a good suggestion! I’ll give that a shot.

Yeah, those could really unlock some potential!
