Hey everyone! I recently got a prebuilt PC for work, and while it has decent components, it's louder than I'd like. Right now, it sounds like a PS4 Pro, and I'd love to get it down to the noise level of an Xbox Series X. I'm particularly bothered by the RTX 4090's coil whine under pressure. I'm considering upgrading the case and fans to help with this. I've got an MSI X570-A PRO motherboard and an SSD for storage. ChatGPT suggested the be quiet! Silent Base 802 case paired with six Silent Wings 4 fans, but I've also looked into the Fractal Design Torrent as an option. Any advice on the best way to go about this? My main goal is to make it as quiet as possible, even though I know I can't completely eliminate the coil whine. Thanks!

Cleaning the fans and checking airflow is a solid step. Sometimes dust buildup can really ramp up the sound. Also, consider reapplying thermal paste if you haven't done that in a while. If the noise isn’t tied to overheating and it's still disturbing, maybe you could look into putting the PC on the floor if it isn’t already. Might help dampen the sound a bit!
It sounds like your case fans are the main culprits for noise during idle and load times. Have you adjusted the fan curves yet? That could help balance out the noise. Also, since you mentioned coil whine from the GPU, have you experimented with undervolting it? It might help reduce the noise a bit. Just make sure to monitor temps while doing that!
Yeah, tweaking those fan curves can really make a difference! I adjusted mine and it helped reduce the noise level significantly. Undervolting the GPU might also help, but you'll want to be careful not to push it too far.

That’s true! I put mine on the ground and it helped a lot with noise. You could also think about noise-cancelling headphones if the sound really bothers you.
