I'm trying to figure out how to turn my USB-only printer, like the Ricoh SP112SU, into a wireless one. Have any of you successfully done this? I'd love to hear about reliable adapters, Raspberry Pi setups, or other DIY solutions that have worked for you. Ideally, I want a setup that can be accessed across different devices and operating systems like Windows, Linux, and Android. Any tips, product recommendations, or insights from your experiences would be greatly appreciated!

I've had success using Windows' built-in printer sharing feature. It worked great with other Windows machines I connected, though I did have a hiccup during a Windows update that messed things up for a bit.

A lot of routers come with a USB port where you can plug in your printer. If you do that, you should be able to connect over Wi-Fi directly through the router.

I would recommend getting a print server device. They go for around $60 on Amazon. Also, if you can, try a wired connection near your router for an easier setup with less hassle than wireless.

Like some mentioned, sharing the printer on Windows can be the easiest route. Just keep in mind the computer it's connected to needs to be powered on for the others to access it.

It really boils down to how your printer is set up. If it's hooked up to a computer, Windows sharing works. But if you only connect your laptop when printing, consider a print server which connects either over Wi-Fi or directly to your router. You might even have a built-in option on your router—definitely check into that. For tech enthusiasts, building your own print server with a Raspberry Pi could be a fun project too!
