How can I optimize my PC settings for 100+ FPS in games?

Hey everyone! I've got a Ryzen 7 3800X, an ASUS X570 Plus motherboard, an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070, 32GB DDR4 3600 RAM, and NVME storage drives. Ever since I upgraded my PC, I feel like it's been underperforming compared to my friends who have similar or even worse setups but are getting the same or better FPS in games. I'm playing mostly indie and some older titles like 7 Days to Die, Once Human, BF2042, and Marvel's Rivals. I've tried lowering graphic settings and shadows to improve FPS, but it hasn't helped much. What settings should I tweak to consistently hit 100+ FPS? Should I keep DLSS on, and if so, what mode works best?

You might need to do some tuning for different parts of your system, starting with your RAM. Make sure it's running at the right speed and isn't defaulting to the base DDR4 speeds. Also, check that your GPU is in the right PCI slot and configured properly—sometimes they can limit to lower speeds if not set right. Look up tuning guides on YouTube for your specific motherboard! And if you’ve recently upgraded, did you reinstall Windows? Old settings might be causing issues. Also, GPU control settings can sometimes work better than in-game settings for performance.

Thanks, I'll definitely check into those!

What’s your monitor’s resolution? If lowering graphics settings doesn’t boost performance, it could mean your CPU is bottlenecking the system. Try using DDU to remove your current GPU drivers and install the latest ones directly from NVIDIA. Also, ensure you have the chipset drivers from AMD instead of the motherboard manufacturer.

Try lowering your graphics quality or resolution, and definitely use DLSS if it’s available for the games you play. Personally, I like to customize my settings by keeping textures high but lowering shadows and lighting to balance good visuals and frame rates.

Just a tip: make sure you're aware of settings specific to the games you're playing—some might have optimizations based on your hardware that can help a lot.
